Andrew, who was born in Pembrokeshire soon made South Wales his home. The young man made his Glamorgan 2nd XI debut in 2010 and he has also appeared for Wales Minor Counties and the Cardiff MCCU team, for whom he made his first-class debut in 2012 against Somerset at Taunton. In 2013 Andrew claimed a wicket with his first ball in Championship cricket for Glamorgan at the St. Helen’s ground in Swansea during the match with Leicestershire which was a brilliant achievement. After graduating from Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2014, Andrew became a regular face in Glamorgan’s line-up for both white-ball and red-ball cricket. 2019 saw Salter finish as the county's leading wicket-taker in Vitality Blast action, taking 14 wickets at an average of just under 20. He took successive career-best hauls, firstly taking 4/23 at The Oval in front of a packed house against Surrey before putting on a show on Sky Sports with 4/12 against Gloucestershire at Sophia Gardens. 2020 was also a successful year for Salter as he took 10 wickets in 10 Vitality Blast games, reaching the half-century of poles for the Welsh county. 2021 has proved to be another fantastic season for Andrew as he was part of the Royal London One day cup winning team which was in fact Glamorgan’s first piece of silverware since 2004. Andrew had a brilliant day out taking 3 for 42 with the ball and scoring 33 from just 22 balls with the bat.
